Privacy Policy

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR"), how SwimCalcs.com processes personal data. Although the site targets a US audience, it is operated by an EU company, so the GDPR applies to visitors in the EU/EEA.

2. Hosting & server logs

When you open the site, information is automatically recorded in server log files (IP address, date/time, page requested, browser type) for secure and reliable delivery. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Delivery uses a content-delivery network (Cloudflare) for security and speed.

3. Consent & cookies

We set statistics and advertising cookies only with your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give granularly in the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. 4. Google Analytics 4

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) for audience measurement. Usage data is processed pseudonymously; we use Google Consent Mode v2, so no analytics cookies are set without consent. Data may be transferred to third countries under Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Google AdSense

To fund the site we may, with your consent, use Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd.) to display ads. Cookies may be used to serve and measure ads. Without consent no advertising cookies are set; personalized advertising only occurs if you choose it.

6. Contact form

If you message us via the contact form, we process the data you provide (name, e-mail, message) to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed.

7. Newsletter (double opt-in)

If you subscribe to our newsletter we process your e-mail address on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We use a double opt-in: after signing up you receive a confirmation e-mail, and the subscription becomes active only when you click the link. The time of sign-up and confirmation are stored as proof of consent. Sending and management use our self-hosted software (Listmonk) on our own EU infrastructure; no data is passed to third parties. You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every newsletter e-mail, after which your address is removed.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw a consent at any time.
